Weak financial condition gave food for a time and today are the prestigious Arjun Award winners

When Sarika Kale has been selected for the Arjuna Award that year but she still remembers the days when she used to play Kho-Kho. She ate only one meal a day for almost a decade.

Former Indian women's Kho-Kho team captain Sarika Kale has been selected for the prestigious Arjuna Award. She will be honored with the Arjuna Award on the occasion of National Sports Day on 29 August. The 27-year-old player is now working as a sports officer in Tuljapur in the Osmanabad district.

Sarika Kale has been the captain of the Indian women's Kho-Kho team which won the gold medal in the South Asian Games 2016.

Had to struggle even for two times bread:

Her uncle used to play in the Osmanabad district of Maharashtra and used to take along with him to the field from the age of 13. Her mother used to do sewing and other household chores. Due to the physical weakness of her father, he could not earn much. Her entire family depended on the earnings of her grandparents. At that time she used to get food only once a day to eat. They used to get special food only when I went camping or to participate in some competition. She got into sports because of her family situation. This game only gave a new direction to her life.

Family supported:

Despite many difficulties, Sarika Kale's family supported her and never stopped her from participating in various tournaments. In her view, the difference between rural and urban environments is that rural people understand your success late, no matter how big it is.

The decision to leave the game was taken due to financial problems:

Sarika Kale was troubled in 2016 due to the financial problems of her family. Financial constraints forced her to take the decision to leave the game. Then her coach Chandrajit Jadhav came forward and explained to her. After she talked to Sarika she returned to the ground and this was the turning point of her life. She continued his game.

That's the difference between a teacher and life:

-The teacher takes the test after teaching the lesson

-Life teaches lessons by taking tests
