She was injured in a car accident at the age of 13 while going to Chandigarh. In this accident, there was a deep injury on his spinal cord, due to which the lower part of his body was paralyzed and since then he is on a wheelchair.

After being paralyzed, Pratishtha remained bedridden for three years due to which she continued her studies at home. By bringing 90-90% marks in 10th and 12th, he told me that if there is unwavering determination in the mind, then every challenge becomes easy in front of that confidence.

After successfully passing 12th he decided to remain independent. And when I made up my mind to go to Delhi and study, then my family members refused. They didn't want to leave him alone. But he also forced the family members to persuade him.

Away from family, she is now pursuing BA Honors in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University, and has been living there alone for the last three years. Pratishtha's father Munish Sharma is posted at DSP Special Branch in Hoshiarpur itself and her mother is a teacher.

There her courage increased even more in college, then she learned to raise her voice not only for herself but also for other girls. The sound of prestige reached the country and abroad. He got the opportunity to speak at the global level in British High Commission, Hindustan Unilever, and United Nations. Pratishtha is also playing a very active role in the rights of the disabled.

Pratishtha Deveshwar has been selected for Masters's degree in Public Policy at Oxford University. Pratishtha is India's first wheelchair-bound student who got a chance to study at Oxford. After completing the course, she wants to come to India and give UPSC exam. She wants to be the voice of those whom no one listens to and whom no one talks about.
