Meet Arunima Sinha the living embodiment of courage and passion, who proved that weakness lies only in the mind.

Meet Arunima Sinha the living embodiment of courage and passion, who proved that weakness lies only in the mind.

If there is self-confidence and complete loyalty toward the goal, then the physical disability becomes zero.

Willpower, self-confidence, passion towards your goal, high courage, and determination to do something are the weapons that can easily cut the weakness of any weak mindset.

Most people get scared due to small things and incidents. Seeing a little adverse situation, they behave as if God has given them all the trouble. They start cursing their fate, complaining to god why they did this. Even a physically healthy person is informed by a little pain.

But Arunima Sinha is a strong example of how to face a situation and adapt to the situation. Even after losing her leg in an accident, she did not let herself go into the darkness of indifference and with great courage became the world's first handicapped woman and the first handicapped Indian to conquer the world's highest mountain peak- Everest despite having an artificial leg.

Arunima Sinha has proved that if anything is done with passion, courage, and self-confidence, then the circumstances also start moving according to you.

Arunima Sinha was born on 20 July 1988. She is a resident of the Pandatola locality in the Shahzadpur area of Ambedkar Nagar district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. She was interested in volleyball since childhood and her main goal was to make India recognized at the international level. With a master's degree in sociology and a degree in law, she gained recognition as a national-level volleyball player.

But it is said that sometimes such a time comes in everyone's life, which changes a person's life, something similar happened with Arunima Sinha, who can never forget that dark night of April 11, 2011.

She was going from Lucknow to New Delhi in 2011 by Padmavat Express. Around 1am near Bareilly, some robbers wanted to snatch the gold chain lying around her neck, but when she resisted, the robbers threw her down from the moving train after they failed in the robbery.

At the same time, a train was passing from another track, and she collided with it in this accident, her left leg was severed due to coming in between the tracks, and the bones of her right leg were also broken. The whole night she was moaning in pain, she did not get any help because there was no one around at that time.

Rats were gnawing on her severed leg but she was unable to do anything. Trains were coming and going continuously, 49 trains passed by them that night. But Arunima Sinha did not give up even after facing this severe crisis in her life.

When some villagers saw him in the morning, they took him to the nearby hospital. The doctors there were worried as to how to start her treatment as they did not have anesthesia, blood, or oxygen. Even then Arunima Sinha full of courage told the doctor that if she can tolerate the pain for the whole night, then she is amputating her leg for her good, so amputate it without anesthesia. The doctors also saluted her courage and the doctors and pharmacists there gave her blood. Her leg had to be amputated without anesthesia.

Then after this incident came to light in the media because she was a national volleyball player, she got better treatment and was admitted to AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi.

At that time, Arunima was heavily criticized by the media and newspapers and Arunima had to face various things.

Where was she going in the news that she did not have a ticket, so when TT arrived, she jumped from the moving train? So the second news came that he tried to commit suicide.

Her family also denied this but no one listened to her. At that time the people of the media and society were considering Arunima as helpless. At that time something else was going on inside Arunima.

She decided that she would shut people's mouths. Instead of being helpless, she will do something that no one has done in history to date. She chose the world's most difficult sport hill climbing for this from the hospital bed itself and decided to climb Everest, the highest peak.

Just think, the one who is physically strong, her feet also start to waver in the name of conquering Everest. She was ridiculed, people started thinking of her as crazy and crazy, and even a mental doctor was called to see her in the hospital. But her family supported her a lot.

In the circumstances in which Arunima was, it takes years for people to stand up, whereas Arunima stood up in only four months. Arunima Sinha's left leg was joined with the help of an artificial leg.

After coming out of AIIMS with a left artificial leg, iron rods lying in the bones of the right leg, and scars on the body, Arunima Sinha did not come directly to her home and reached Jamshedpur to meet Bachendri Paul, the first Indian woman mountaineer to climb Everest.

Seeing this condition of Arunima Sinha, first Bachendri Pal advised her to take rest, but seeing the high spirits of Arunima Sinha, she bowed down and said, you have crossed the height of Everest on the strength of your courage. Now you just have to write the date of victory for the world in yourself.

She learned the tricks of mountaineering from Nepal to Leh, Ladakh under the supervision of Bachendri Pal. After taking training from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering and Tata Steel of Adventure Foundation in Uttarakhand, she got sponsorship and started climbing Everest on April 1, 2013.

Shee had to face a lot of difficulties while climbing Everest. She was in the lead at Rocky Place but she had to face a lot of difficulty on the snowy mountain, looking blue and green, her artificial leg used to rotate completely. But she did not lose courage and continued on her path with full confidence.

After crossing three levels of her ascent, when she proceeded to her next stop, she could see dead bodies everywhere. She stopped for 10-15 minutes but with determination in her mind promised herself and the dead that she would definitely conquer Mount Everest.

During the last 100 meters of the climb, she was on the verge of running out of oxygen, and in this situation, her guide and other Everest climbers advised Arunima to turn back. But it is said that those who try never loose. In the same way, Everest also had to bow down before Arunima's courage. She created a new history on 21 May 2013 by conquering the world's highest peak Mount Everest at 10:55.

She holds the world record for being the first Indian-disabled woman to successfully climb Everest. While descending from Everest, her oxygen was completely exhausted. But they say that God also supports those who try with a true heart. Exactly the same happened with Arunima. A British climber threw one of the two oxygen cylinders in which less oxygen was left due to bad weather while climbing Everest and returned to the bottom. Their guide took that oxygen cylinder and gave it to Arunima and started walking back down.

Even now difficulties were not leaving her, suddenly her artificial leg came out. Salute to this brave woman whose courage wavered once but she did not give up, holding the rope with one hand and dragging her artificial leg with the other kept moving forward. After walking some distance like this, opened the artificial leg at a rocky place and fixed it.

Everest summit from level 4 is 3500 feet which normally takes 15-16 hours but Arunima Sinha completed it in 28 hours. For this reason, the rest of the Everest climbers assumed that she would not come back alive.

Arunima Sinha just wants to tell the world that no obstacle can stop a person if she is determined to achieve her goal.

The Government of India honored her with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award, in 2015 for her outstanding achievements. Prime Minister Narendra Modi herself inaugurated Arunima's biography - 'Born Again in the Mountain'. In 2016, Arunima Sinha was awarded the Ambedkarnagar Ratna Award by the Ambedkarnagar Festival Committee.

Arunima has so far climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mount Kosciuszko (Australia), Mount Aconcagua (South America), Carstensz Pyramid (Indonesia), and Mount Elbrus (Europe) with the help of an artificial leg on the basis of her courage and passion has climbed.

The world record of the world's first handicapped woman to climb Mount Vinson (the highest peak in Antarctica) has also been named after our country. Arunima kissed the forehead of Mount Vinson, the highest peak of Antarctica on Thursday, 3 January 2019 at 12:27 minutes.

She has adopted 120 disabled children in Lucknow and is helping them in every possible way.

She has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by a prestigious UK University.

Padma Shri Arunima Sinha started new innings of life by tying the knot on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Arunima is married to Gaurav Singh, a shooter who performed brilliantly in the Para Olympic Games.

Arunima Sinha formed a trust named Arunima Foundation on 13 August 2014.

Arunima Sinha has established Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Divyang Khel Academy with the aim of being the support of every loser but ambitious Divyang in life and with the spirit of social welfare.

Which is being operated by Arunima Foundation. In this, disabled players are trained and encouraged and all kinds of facilities are provided to them. This academy provides assistance in physical and social development to disabled players with respect. Arunima wants that her record should be broken by Indian Divyang mountaineers only and create a new history.
