Early Life

Richa Kar was born on 17 July 1980 in a middle-class family in Jamshedpur city of Jharkhand. Her mother was a homemaker and her father was working in Tata Steel Company.

She has been promising and talented since childhood. After completing her early education, she graduated from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.

She has always aimed to do something different. She had a strong desire to create a separate identity of her own.


Career

After completing her engineering studies, Richa Kar started working in an IT company as a software analyst.

Her aim was not only to get a job, so she did MBA. decided to do In 2005, she took admitted for post-graduation in MBA from NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies).

After completing her MBA, she joined as a Brand Communications Area Manager at Spencer retail company.

In the year 2010, he got a chance to work with SAP Company as a Business Consultant. Here he also learned a lot about the quality of an operator.

Richa Kar wanted to name her website Jiva. But due to the non-availability of the website name, she named it Zivame. Which means - to shine in me.

It was also challenging for them to get a payment gateway for their online shopping website – Zivame. Faced with all the challenges, Richa Kar never backed down.

She also had to face many ups and downs in this business. In 2015-16, her company also suffered a loss of 54 crores. But even then Richa Kar did not lose courage.

Women are ashamed to even speak about underwear. Richa Kar started Zivame on 25 August 2011 on an e-commerce platform to bridge this gap.

She started Zivame in 2011 with Rs 35 lakh with the help of her friends, family, and her own savings.

Zivame Business wanted to come up with a distribution system. Which can overcome the problems of the physical distribution of underwear.

Zivame also has online product specialists. With whom women can talk and solve their problems.

Richa Kar also believes in providing good service to her clients. Due to this, the customers got confidence in Zivame, and stability in their business also came.

She designed this business in such a way that this business can fulfill the need of women.

Within 5 hours of the launch of Zivame's website, they got their first customer.

After a lot of struggle, she was given an order of 7000 rupees by a businessman from Indore.
