Birth and Early Life
Namita Thapar was born on 21 March 1977 in Pune. She is from a Gujarati family. Her father's name is Satish Mehta and her mother's name is Bhavna Mehta. She grew up in an affluent family in Pune.
Her father is the founder of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. Her brother's name is Samit Mehta, and she is the R&D President at Emcure Pharmaceuticals.
She completed her schooling in Pune only. She has been a bright student and has always been the topper of her class. She took a B.Com degree from Savitribai Phule University.
She earned her MBA from Duke University Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina. Namita is also a Certified Chartered Accountant from ICAI.

Career
Namita worked for Guidant Corporation of America for six years before joining her father's business, Emcure Pharmaceuticals. She joined the company as CFO, Chief Financial Officer and is now the Executive Director of the company.
As the Executive Director of Emcure, Namita Thapar is leading the company's business in India with approximately 4000 medical representatives across the country.
She also serves as a Trustee on the TiE Mumbai Board of Trustees. Also an active member of the Young Presidents Organization.
Namita Thapar is also a member of the Regional Advisory Board of Fuqua School of Business India.
She founded Incredible Ventures Limited, an education company, in 2017. The objective of this company is to promote youth entrepreneurship by teaching entrepreneurial skills to children in the age group of 11-18 years. The company has branches in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.
As a successful entrepreneur, Namita Thapar has also been a speaker at prestigious forums like Harvard Business School, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM A), ET Women's Conference, FICCI, etc.

Namita Thapar is married to renowned businessman Vikas Thapar. Her husband Vikas Thapar earned his BS in Management Science from the prestigious University of California, San Diego, followed by his MBA from USC Marshall School of Business, California.
Vikas Thapar is currently the Senior Vice President of his company Emcure Pharmaceuticals.
Vikas Thapar is well known in the corporate sector for providing financial support to several large companies and his exceptional expertise in doing value-added business.
Namita Thapar and Vikas Thapar have two sons – Veer and Jai.
