Introduction and Early Life
Sudha Murthy is a well-known social worker and the chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. Sudha Murthy's husband is Mr. Narayana Murthy, the founder of the famous software company Infosys Technologies and industrialist.
Sudha Murthy was born on 19 August 1950 in Shivang in North Karnataka. Her name before marriage was Sudha Kulkarni. Her mother's name was Vimla Kulkarni and her father's name was Dr. RH Kulkarni.

Education
Sudha Murthy did BE in Electrical Engineering from BVB College of Engineering & Technology. She stood first in the entire state for which she was awarded a silver medal by the Chief Minister of Karnataka at that time.
In 1974, she obtained a master's degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Science. At that time she got the first position in it for which she was awarded the gold medal.
Sudha Murthy was very smart and sharp in studies since childhood. She was alone among all the boys in her college, at that time it was a big thing to study among the boys and it was a very courageous thing to do engineering and to top among all the boys in that. In those days, engineering was considered a profession only for boys, it was not considered right for girls to look in that direction, in such a situation, Sudha Murthy was able to achieve this position with her intensity and sharp mind, for this she is not less than a superwoman.
In the midst of such difficult challenges, only a person with a living and stable mind can do this to study and come out on top. Today's girls should take inspiration from Sudha ji's life while taking education from her.

Career
Sudha Murthy became the first woman engineer to work in Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO), India's largest auto manufacturer Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company. An important and inspiring story behind becoming the first female engineer in a telco is that Sudha Murthy wrote a postcard to the president at that time complaining about gender discrimination in the company, after which she was interviewed and immediately hired, making her the first female engineer. Appointed as a woman engineer.
She previously worked as a development engineer in Pune and was later posted in Mumbai and Jamshedpur. She worked as a Senior System Analyst with Walchand Group of Industries in Pune.
In the year 1996, she founded the Infosys Foundation and is currently the Chairperson of the organization. She is also a visiting professor at Bangalore University. She was also a professor at Christ University.
Infosys Foundation inaugurated two institutions - HR Kadim Dewan Building at IIT Kanpur and Narayan Rao Melgiri Memorial National Law Library at NLSIU.
She has also written and published several books, of which two are travelogues, two technical books, six novels, and three didactic books.

Personal Life
Sudha Murthy married NR Narayana Murthy when she was working as an engineer in a telco in Pune.
Sudha Murthy and Narayan Murthy have two children, a daughter- Akshata,, and a son- Rohan. Akshata married her Stanford classmate and former UK Finance Minister Rishi Sunak.
After 7 weeks of Liz Truss resigning and becoming the UK's shortest reigning Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak took over the reins and created history by becoming the first Indian-origin Prime Minister of the UK in October 2022.
On her son-in-law becoming the Prime Minister of Britain, Sudha Murthy said she is happy with Sunak's success and wishes him all the best.
JRD Tata once told Sudha Murthy that no one owns money. You are the sole trustee of the money and it always changes hands. When you are successful, give it back to the society that has given you so much goodwill.
